Tevita 'Uhatafe,

Precint Chair 3389, Political Coordinator - Transport Workers Union AFL-CIO [TWU] Local 513, Delegate - Tarrant County Central Labor Council [TCCLC] AFL-CIO

“It’s no secret how much non-stop action the labor movement has seen in North Texas the last 3 years. From a national labor strike, to city council meetings, to promoting citizenship drives, to lobbying pro-labor legislation in Austin and many other actions I’ve been involved with, none of this is possible without my union brother, Steve Ruiz.

Brother Steve is the only person I believe that will fight for all people. I know this, I’ve seen him pull along people of all class statuses, religious affiliations, and races to achieve wins no singular group or organization can win alone. He’s a proven winner.

This is my formal endorsement of my brother to run as SD9 Committeeman.”

“As a fellow activist, Steve is a shining example of positivity and consistency towards the goals of an inclusive and representative Democratic Party. As a former candidate for local office, I know first hand that Steve is dedicated to fighting for those often left out and left behind. The residents and neighbors of Senate District 9 will be well served by Steve as your State Executive Democratic Committeeman.”

“I would like to endorse Steve Ruiz because he stays involved and fights for the rights of all. He is very involved with the labor council and has a lot of knowledge of the benefits of supporting unions. He is always available to precinct chairs and has worked tirelessly trying to get Democrats elected In this area. He doesn’t work as an individual but as a part of a greater team who works to motivate others.”

I am honored to have the support of these individuals and organizations . . .

“The vote I am most excited to cast this convention is for Steve Ruiz for SD9 Committeeman. Since I have met Steve I have seen him fighting for working class power wherever he can. From the picket line to knocking doors in our community and so much more, Steve has exemplified the meaning of Solidarity. I look forward to many more years of learning from Steve and hope to spend the next two learning from him as our SD9 Committeeman.” - Ernesto Gloria

Our Labor Unions in Texas emit an overwhelming sense of community and family. I wholeheartedly believe that we need to make it easier for workers to unionize and hold power and that we need to elect real people willing to fight for our working class families.

When I think of a person that embodies the unwavering solidarity of workers and the devotion to building a large working class movement, I think of Steve Ruiz. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Steve over this last year and could not be more impressed with his efforts to organize and build relationships all over DFW. He is a great leader and I am proud to endorse him for SD9 Committeeman because I know he would do an outstanding job representing working class families! 🔥🔥🔥

Please lend your support to Steve and remember to cast your vote 5/31-6/2! - Karla Palomares, SD10 Sanders National Delegate

Kurt Stallings - SD9 Delegate

“I am backing Mr. Ruiz in this key vote. I like his consistent hands-on organization of material assistance to those in need and his focus on labor in the past. In the present, The American worker has been backed to the point her heels are on the edge of the ridge, and one stiff breeze can plunge her to the rocks below. We’ve seen in the Year of Covid how the affluent and their bought legislators willfully treat workers and their very lives as readily exchangeable commodities. It’s not just COVID — make no mistake. Things like the rollback of safety protection for workers are intended to root and expand.

Votes must be earned. Poll after poll shows what these good folk need and want from the Democratic Party. I think “Steve the Labor Guy” can help us deliver on those policies and earn their votes in November.” - Kurt Stallings

I am proud to endorse my union brother Steve Ruiz for SD9 Committeeman. Steve has a long track record of speaking up and standing shoulder to shoulder with those in the fight for equality, opportunity, and justice and I know he will represent my senate district well on the SDEC.

I am proud to endorse someone who understands workers’ rights are inseparable from human rights and can build the infrastructure we need to support all democratic candidates and office holders.

Karrol Rimal - Progressive Strategist.
